Massachusetts state police abusing power

I am so angry about the story of the State police pulling that handicap woman out her car and sparying mase at her because of a One month old expired registration sticker.

That is just terrible. I am a woman and first of all if i was "pulled over" by an un-marked police car i probably wouldn't put my window down or get out either, and in her case she was unable to even stand if she wanted to. It is way too dangerous of a world to just trust any man who comes out of no where banging on your window saying he is a police officer.  Unmarked police cars SHOULD NOT in my opinion be allowed to pull people over unless they have a really good reason. This is just rediculous to me.

I have several members of my family who have MS and being a part of the national MS walks for the last 7 years at forest park i have come to know a whole community of people who are at all different stages of the disease. That poor woman would NOT have been able to just jump out of her car, especially on such a whim.

It is my opinion that state police in particular have a great tendancy to misuse or abuse their authority over the law.  What happened to that woman was not right.  I just think about how could have easily been my own mother and it angers me so much that there are such CREEPS working in law enforcement that it completely leaves me with a disgusted feeling about officers in general.

I hate to have to feel this way and I shouldn't have to feel this way.

They are being paid by our tax dollars to Protect and Serve.

  • I have not heard any updates for what happened to this woman who was innocently assaulted by this unmarked state trroper.

I would like to know his name if anyone knows and also the outcome of his actions.

  • God complex is right, no better way to put it.

How is it that these men get to live by a completely different set of rules for society? I mean listen to the stories here, in just these two instances how much time would anyone else have to serve for throwing themselves into oncomming traffic on the highway (seriously!) and car-mugging (that is just the reality of it!) how is it that it is actually happening, EVERYDAY, and nothing is being done. I think it's about damn time these "officers" of the "law" are brought to acknowledge and pay for their actions. It is not acceptable for anyone else to act this way and it certainly should not be allowable for state police to act this way.

They are hired and paid to enforce the law and protect the citizens, well I don't see any of that being done.

I was recently pulled over on Parker St in SPringfield if anyone knows where that is, right after the circuit city and i was pulled over by an unmarked state police truck because i was drivinging in the left lane. It isn't a highway!! It is a regular 2 lane road with streets and churches and busnesses on both sides all the way down the street. Thats like getting pulled over on Boston Rd for driving in the left lane. I was literally screamed at for it and God forbid I mention every other car thatws driving with traffic along with me int he left lane. He warned me and threatened that if I was caught on my way to work in the left lane again I would "be in for it". I was late to work and almost lost my job for it. I really think he just pulled me over because he had a bad childhood and just felt like yelling at someone and getting a rush from being dominant and angry. Thats what it seemed like to me. It was completely uncalled for. OH, and did I mention HE was in the left lane too..

  • Abusing power? It's more like they have a god complex.

About a year ago I was driving on an on ramp merging into traffic on 91. Apparently there was a speed trap going on, with one state police car on the over pass and one just ahead off the side of the road. I had just gotten up to 65 and the second police officer just started to walk into my lane like I wasn't there pointing at a car in the fast lane behind me. Well obviously I slammed on the brakes went from 65 to 20, I don't know how.

Well, after almost killing the officer or causing a huge accident. I continued on my way, extremely pissed off. After driving a few miles I had noticed that my truck wasn't running quite right. Come to find out a brake caliper froze up. It was directly connected to the incident with the officer.

I attempted to make a complaint with the local state police but the guy there was clueless as to what to do. Gee like the state ever had to pay for something stupid one of thier officers had done.

That's my actual experience. I would offer an opinion. If you don't have the smarts to not walk into oncoming traffic, then you must have some kind of god complex. And people wonder why police officers get run over all the time.

  • I was also sickend, howver, un-surprised, by this story. These things happen every day, it is a shame. I am glad the public had a chance to hear about one.
